(Hospital 18) You just can't have everything in your life

And there are occurrences where a man or woman inherit so much talent/aptitude in one area that the negligence shows in other areas. Such, I believe, is the case for this man, Jimmy Onishi. Here's a man (supposedly) so dumb, back when he was playing high school baseball, even with his great ball skills, was not allowed to play because he just couldn't remember the simple hand signs given by coaches. Or, when he was offered to become one celebrity's designated driver, it took him nearly 6 months to obtain a license at the driving school where average drivers were passing the test in mere 2 weeks.

Then, in early 90's, at one TV show, Jimmy entered some charity event where him and other celebrities were to auction off their hand crafted arts. Nobody had any idea what's to come of Jimmy (I'm sure he had no idea either)then. But Jimmy's color painting ended up receiving such high regards by actual art critics that Jimmy turned his career into an artist since.

He's since released book of painting collections, held exhibits throughout Japan, and released many merchandises of his own.

Recently, he's been doing more TV shows, but I believe his main focus is still on his painting and sculpting.

  1. Oh man, I haven't laughed so hard since...well, the last time I saw Jimmy. I've even got him to thank for making me aware of Gaki; his now infamous "high school english" is legendary.

    his english lesson in the high school batsu is legen- wait for it... -dary! :)

    didn't know he's painting, though. i guess i'm as surprised as you were. i was thinking he's "just" another comedian.

  3. LOL, i loved Jimmy's little section in the high school game, was HILLARIOUS, but DAMN... this is just something else XD!

  4. If you ever get the chance, try to find the video of Jimmy being held down to a chair while Matsumoto backs into his face with his exposed ass. Jimmy starts gagging and it's hilarious.

  12. The Newspaper one was their latest - 08/09 (see above). I think the only one not to have been subbed (or in process) is the Police batsu.

  20. Not too much left to go. It'll be close to the end when they get to the haunted hospital part. I think a lot of them run around 3 hours.

  26. wow that was nice to know about Jimmy. Everybody indeed have their own strengths and weaknesses. I came to know Gaki through this guy when i stumbled upon a clip of his doing the "learning English" part of the high school batsu. I was hook ever since and since then i always anticipate his portion in the show ^^ (ana)

  27. I'm glad Jimmy is doing shows and continuing being an artist as well. He is superb in both! I'm happy for him and for someone supposedly 'stupid' I admire his abilities a lot.
