(Police 10) I know English is cool and everything but

As I subbed/translated this clip (half way by the way,) I couldn't help but notice that there's been way too many English words and phrases that Japanese never bother to translate it in their own language: Japanese.
The word D.V. comes up in this clip. It stands for Domestic Violence. Now, the last time I checked there was Japanese phrase that means exactly that 家庭内暴力(reads: Katei Nai Bouryoku)What the hell happened to it? Is it because it's easier to say D.V. than 家庭内暴力?

I understand that many of the IT related words are pretty much left in English for the convenience, but I've recently heard some words that I know that they have it in Japanese like; reasonable, cost, moral, consultant, restructure, status, and etc...there's way more.
Use Japanese and be proud!

Now, I'm going to cause some 家庭内暴力 (jk)

Ah, the mighty Jimmy Onishi. In case you haven't read about him on my blog, here

Ah, Jimmy, you rock. Can't wait to see him later, I seem to remember that was even funnier.

Don't quite know why he wasn't used more in the newspaper one.

Cheers Pan-san.

I agree with what you say, Shibats. Its an evolution of language I am guessing. Recently, alot of kids in my area have been saying "baño" instead of bathroom. O well!

Thank you soooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!

I've seen most of the police raw before and even though some say the batsu games are funny enough without a translation I think knowing what is going on ads another dimension, a lot of the comedy is in the words they speak not only through the actions.

A great example is the Jimmy Onishi clip provided here... although I do have to say that if D.V. hadn't been used there wouldn't have been a joke I guess... like DNA in the hospital one... lol.

I look forward to seeing the rest of the series... and since this is the first time I've responded... thank you for all the gaki no tsukai batsu games you have translated, they are great!!!
