Let's discuss how to eat ramen noodles properly. First of all, I grew up slurping the hell out of ramen noodles thus, I have zero issues. But there's still some around me in the States who has issues with it. I guess it sounds gross or something.

he ramen noodles are not considered a gourmet meal, but rather, meant for people to eat it quick and go about their business. Not only that, you want to consume ramen noodles before they get soggy in a hot broth. I would say the gross-ness factor of soggy noodles is equivalent to the skunked beer.

Nobuto Okamoto has been acting in many Japanese television dramas as well as number of Japanese films since the late 60's. My guess is that neither Hamada nor Matsumoto would never have guessed that the veteran actor like him would ever agree to do this type of stuff.
I can see Hamada is almost star struck.
You should see the ramen eating procedure outlined in the movie Tampopo... absolutely ridiculous.
oh man i remeber watching tampopo in japanese class during highschool i liked that movie except for the turtle soup scene, poor turtle
